It was an incredibly useful piece of equipment and most importantly one with emotional significance. The blue Leatherman Juice C2 was a precious present from my colleagues back at MyHeritage. Unfortunately, it’s quality wasn’t what I had expected from this US cult brand. Ironically it happened while traveling through China – where the presumably low-quality fake leathermans are sold for a few dollars – that some of the metal pieces that held the tool together had broken. While constantly on the road there was no way to get it repaired anyway.
While in Tanah Rata I had put the Leatherman in our hotel room and it was nowhere to be found on the day we left there. Discussions with the hostel staff obviously did not lead anywhere and it remains unclear what happened to it. It seems to be clear though that my leatherman and me have parted ways. So RIP, you were a good companion.
