Ever since we had booked our return to Europe on the Queen Mary 2, it was clear to us that we would stop for a few days in London to catch up with some very good friends of ours that are living there. In fact, considering that most of our friends are generally spread all over the world, London may be the city with the highest concentration of close friends in one place.
We stayed with Sharon and Harith, and there was simply not enough time to talk about everything we would have liked to talk about – playing catch-up on 18 months of travelling with well-travelled friends is not a quick task :-) It was a stimulating and vibrant mix of travel stories of Malaysia and beyond, great Israeli food and discussions about Islamic philosophy. Thanks Sharon and Harith for reassuring us that with good friends, you can pick things up just where you left off.
I had arranged to meet several of my college friends from Cambridge that now live in London, and in a lucky coincidence even Naomi, who resides now in New Zealand, happened to be in London that day. Thus it became an unexpectedly complete reunion of the Corpus girls. We met in a stylish cocktailbar called Zetter Townhouse, and most of the evening was spent laughing and gossiping, just like in the good old times.
Our whole stay in London was basically one big reunion, and we enjoyed the city and the company of our friends tremendously. Thanks guys for the warm welcome back in Europe!
